Dear Janet,
Thank you so much for your time and patience.
Both Brian and I remarked just how professionally you worked with Holly and I felt that you very quickly identified the problems with her and gave us the necessary tools to fix them.
I've printed out the training sessions which you sent and I've warned 'Madam' that we have a lot of work to do.
Thanks once more

Carolyn and Brian.

Training Your Dog ~ Together

Training your dog should be fun !
A calm, simple and fun approach brings out the very best in a dog. It gives him the confidence to carry out your commands and the praise he receives for doing so cements the type of bond we all want with our best friend.

Training is always "one to one", with lessons tailored to suit the individual needs of the dog and the owner. But please don't panic when I say that I'll also be training you!

With your new found knowledge and skills, you'll have the confidence to step in and correct any mistakes made by your dog.

Training takes place outside whatever the weather, so be prepared !!
Having been fully trained by me, your dog will walk to heel - on or off the lead - come to your call, will sit and stay and of equal importance, not chase sheep. When your dog is off the lead, he will enjoy freedom but under your control, know where the boundaries are and respect you as his leader.

If your time is limited there is always the option of residential dog training. Your dog boards with me and receives comprehensive training and upon collection, you will be shown how to make him behave as has been taught.

What type of training would best suit your dog?

Recognising that all dogs are different, I have devised different formats of training. Because no two dogs are exactly the same, the training I offer isn't a "one size fits all" approach. Instead, I offer lessons in various formats to suit both your dog and you.

Pre Puppy

I'm available to give advice before you choose your pup. Then, once you you've got him/her, slowly progress onto teaching your dog some good manners.

1 or 2 day Courses

These "one to one" courses are held at my home and on the quiet routes I walk the dogs. If you're travelling from outside the county, there are a number of dog friendly bed and breakfasts locally.

6 Week Training Course

This programme involves lessons with me either here or at your home, on a one to one basis. If you have a young pup I strongly advise starting straight away with my young puppy “training” before progressing onto this course.

Residential Dog Training

Training a dog takes both time and commitment - something not everyone has.
With my residential training course, your dog lives with me for a month. His training is constant and it's not just about "sit and stay". It covers everyday situations, from who goes out the door first right through to not chasing sheep and livestock. He will socialise with other dogs, allowing him to become both confident and accepting when around other animals.
When you come to collect your dog, you'll be met by a fully trained, happy and relaxed friend.

When your dog is fully trained, he will:-

  • Sit to command and whistle.
  • Sit at a distance to the whistle.
  • Stay.
  • Walk to heel on / off the lead.
  • Not chase sheep
  • YOU will have gained in confidence.
  • Will know its boundaries.
  • Want to please you.
  • Not pull towards distractions.
  • Respect You !

My Masterclass

Ever wondered what makes your dog tick?  Why does he do that - and how can you change it?

Find out on one of my half day "masterclasses", when you can join me on a walk and together, we are able to establish what needs to be done to improve your dog's obedience and behaviour.

Maybe your dog needs a gentle reminder of the "basics", such as sitting, staying, recall or even walking properly on the lead. Or maybe the issues you face are more complex than those.

Whatever the problem, whatever the situation, I will identify what needs to be improved. Then you - with my guidance and support, will correct your dog's obediance or behaviour, while at the same time being rewarded by a dog who takes notice. These half day courses have proven to be very beneficial for the dogs − and even more so for the owners.

Forget the size - any dog can be trained !

Molly the Black Cocker Spaniel and 5 month old Chihuahua Honey, demonstrate the results that can be achieved quite easily through a mixture of firm but fair training, with a healthy splash of fun thrown in.
No need for any cross words !
