Training Your Dog ~ Together
Training your dog should be fun !

A calm, simple and fun approach brings out the very best in a dog. He’ll develop the confidence to carry out your commands and the praise he receives from you for doing so will create a bond that we all seek with our best friend.
My training lessons are always “one to one” and they’re tailored to suit the individual needs of the dog and the owner and take place outside throughout the year.
Having been fully trained, your dog will walk to heel on the lead, come to your call, will sit and stay and overall have far more awareness of you. Off lead he will enjoy his freedom within certain boundaries, and appreciating that you’re in charge.
What type of training would best suit your dog ?
Because no two dogs are exactly the same, the training I offer isn’t a “one size fits all.
Instead, I offer lessons in various formats to suit both your dog and you.

Pre Puppy
If you’re thinking of buying a puppy or have recently become owners and need guidance, give me a call. I’ll be more than happy to advise and help you.

Puppy Training
I tend to start training from 13 weeks of age. To a puppy, you are his world and he’ll naturally want to be with you. This is a wonderful time to nurture the natural instinct your pup will have.
The puppy course consists of 4 lessons, and together we’ll help your pup to understand boundaries, recall and the general world around it.
As well as training your pup I will also help you to understand how dogs learn.

Obedience Training - 1 to 1
This 5 lesson course, spread over 10 weeks, takes place at my home on a one to one basis. If you have a young pup I strongly advise starting straight away with my young puppy “training” before progressing onto this course. Please contact me for further details.

1 or 2 day Courses
These very popular “one to one” courses attract people and their dogs from all over the country. Each one is tailored to suit the individual dog and includes teaching your dog not to chase sheep.

Residential Dog Training
If your time is limited there is always the option of residential dog training.
With my residential training course, your dog will live with me for up to eight weeks. Training is constant and it’s not just about “sit and stay”. It covers everyday situations, from being calm at doorways through to not chasing sheep and livestock. Your dog will socialise with other dogs and learn good manners, and upon collection, will demonstrate with me what he has been taught.
